Dust collector series
The same double bag extractor with the motor carried on top of the stand instead of on the base. Three 100 mm inlets let three machines be connected at once, and the 300 mm fan moves the air through two columns of bags - a high-density filter bag over a collection bag, 480 mm across and 850 mm deep each. Putting the motor up on the extended stand clears the floor underneath for sweeping and keeps the motor out of the chip stream, and the bags unclip at the waist by hand when they need emptying.
Figures are for the 3 kW version. The same machine is also built with a 2.2 kW motor - tell us the supply you have and we will confirm which one suits.

The assemblies that decide how the cut comes out.

A copper-wound motor, mounted up on the stand rather than down in the chip stream, with a magnetic starter on the same bracket. It looks after itself where it matters: if the supply drops, the contactor opens and the motor will not restart by itself when the power returns.

The dust port is made in one piece and sits on top of the stand, so the ducting drops down to the machine instead of running across the floor. There is no welded seam for a hose clamp to work loose on.

The bags are held by a steel clip on a strap that pulls tight and latches over, so the bag hangs square on the collar and stays there once it is heavy with shavings. Emptying one is a job you do standing up.

The stand is taller than the base-mounted version, which lifts the bag collars to a comfortable working height and leaves the floor under the machine clear for a broom. The filter bags are the high-density type, so more of the fine dust stays in the bag instead of going back into the air.

Specifications are quoted from the manufacturer's current sheet for this machine. Confirm them against the machine before ordering.
Two reasons. It keeps the motor and its switch out of the chip stream, so less dust ends up on the motor and inside the terminal box. And it clears the floor under the machine, which matters when the collector is parked in the same bay as the planer and you are sweeping up around it all day.
The cut of air and the bag capacity are the same - same 300 mm fan, same three 100 mm inlets, same 480 x 850 mm bags, same 3 kW motor. The difference is where the motor sits and how tall the stand is. If the machine is going to stay put and you have room, the top-mounted version is the easier one to live with.
The filter bags are high-density, so they hold the fine dust and the collection bags take the bulk of the shavings. On a planer making long shavings you will be emptying more often than on a sander. Both bags come off by hand at the waist clip, and you will know it is time when the airflow at the machine starts to fall away.
