PM36

A 36-inch class band sawmill for one person to run all day. Takes logs to 920 mm, cuts boards 880 mm wide by 850 mm deep, and travels on a four-section bed that bolts together where the logs are. Chain head lift, water fed to the blade at the cut, and a pendant control box you carry down the log.

How it works

The assemblies that decide how the cut comes out.

Blade lubrication right at the cut

A gravity tank on the mast drops water onto the blade through an adjustable valve. Wet cutting keeps the band cool, flushes sawdust out of the kerf and stops resin building up on the wheels - the difference between a blade that lasts a season and one that lasts a weekend.

Head lift you read, not guess

A chain drive raises the head and a graduated rack on the mast shows exactly where it is. Set a thickness, cut, reset, cut again. The blade runs in a guide that tracks the rail, so the cut stays square at the far end of a 3 m log.

Controls within reach, stop within a hand

The electrical box carries the isolator, the indicator light and a mushroom emergency stop. The pendant control hangs on a cable, so you walk alongside the log watching the cut instead of reaching back to the frame every pass.

A bed that goes together square

Four bolt-together sections make up 4.0 m of track, each sitting on an adjustable foot. Set up on grass, gravel or a concrete pad without shimming first. The cross beams are box section, so the bed stays straight under a full-length log.
